Description
Set by Michael and Winifred Bixler in Monotype Bell, a typeface created in 1788 by the english publisher and bookseller John Bell. It was printed letterpress on paper handcrafted especially for this edition at the cardinal mill, Moravia. Photogravure portraits on frontispiece and throughout, facsimile plates included throughout, all guarded by tissue.
Binding: Half blue morocco and bluish green patterned paste paper boards. Top edges gilt. Five raised bands on spine; title gilt in one compartment, author in another. Decorated endpapers. Black velvet-lined linen clamshell box with title and author gilt along spine.
