Bloomsday, named in honor of the protagonist of Ulysses, Leopold Bloom, has been held annually on June 16 since 1924. It is a celebration of the novel and has taken many forms over the years, from readings and performances to pub crawls and historic costumes. We’re excited to invite you to join Thornwillow Press and the Thornwillow Institute for our celebratory Bloomsyear Centennial Reading of Ulysses.
We are uniting hundreds of readers from all over the world—writers, actors, singers, scholars, collectors, and friends of the Press, to record themselves reading sections of the novel. We have consolidated these clips online to create a virtual cover-to-cover reading of Ulysses—censors be damned!
