For fifteen years, Thornwillow has marked the passing of time in a decidedly old-fashioned way.
Each month of the Thornwillow calendar begins as an original design that is engraved in copper and individually stamped by hand on our historic presses. Each month passes through the press four times before being edge stained in gold and finished by hand.
A year of drawing, engraving, printing, and handwork goes into making each calendar.
In the age of the iPhone, we no longer need a wristwatch to tell the time, a fountain pen to write a note, or a desk calendar to tell us the date.
We believe that is precisely why these objects matter more than ever.
Their practical functions may have been superseded digitally, but their human value has not. The things we use every day become part of our lives, and those beautifully designed and carefully crafted by hand, acquire meaning and soul beyond their simple function.

We are finishing the stamping of the 2027 calendars now, and they will be ready to ship this fall.
Both editions are necessarily limited. The time and handwork required to make each calendar mean that we can produce only so many.
