Elizabeth Bennett's Notebook: A Fantasy Facsimile (Half-Cloth)
Elizabeth Bennet's Notebook presents the imagined notes and sketches of Jane Austen's most famous heroine. Pairing illustrations by architectural historian John Claflin with text which reproduces Jane Austen's own handwriting, this fantasy facsimile serves as a companion and supplement to our edition of Pride and Prejudice. Both text and illustrations are printed letterpress and hand-bound in a limited edition of 60 copies.
Color and pattern of the marbled endpaper is unique and varies per copy.
To pay true homage to Jane Austen's timeless classic, Pride and Prejudice, we are presenting this special addition to Thornwillow’s recent imprint. Every significant letter exchanged by the characters in the novel has been reproduced on archival paper and bound into it's own book so that readers can enjoy the culture of Georgian letter writing, just as the characters do. Drawings from “Elizabeth Bennet’s sketchbook” include sketches of Pemberley, Longbourn and Netherfield, as well as scenes from the novel, giving readers an unprecedented, authentic view into the Bennet’s world. These are made by artist and architect John Claflin, an expert in the period, which means that the reader will get a genuine look into life in 1813.
