This portfolio gives insight into the life and work of Mozart through facsimiles of letters that he wrote, music as he drafted it himself, and memorabilia such as concert tickets and brochures from his career, as well as insightful essays and explanations about those images.
Set in Monotype Bembo and printed letterpress. Bembo is an early twentieth century rendering of the first "roman" type used by the Venetian printer and publisher Aldus Manutius in 1495. This type was designed by the punchcutter Francesco Griffo who cast Manutius' letters. The facsimiles have been reproduced using offset lithography.
Binding: All edges trimmed. Dark green linen clamshell box, lined with white moiré, and Mozart's initials gilt on spine.
