Sahar Muradi is an Afghan American writer and educator whose work focuses on ideas of migration, memory, language, and the experiences of the Afghan diaspora. Her writing has won awards such as the Donald Hall Prize for Poetry, the Sustainable Arts Foundation Award in Poetry, and the Himan Brown Poetry Award. Muradi bridges poetry, cultural history, and personal storytelling with her reflective style of writing as well her community work. She is the co-founder of Afghan American Artists & Writers Association and has also served as an arts education leader at City Lore in New York City.
